Why "winds"? The correct translation is "wind"

I think he used the name from the Duck Avenger Blogspot. While you are technically right, I think it sounds a bit better to use the plural in English (and it doesn't change the meaning a lot).

Compared to official tranlsations, it's rather close to the original (out of 15 issues officially translated to german, only 7 had a title with the same meaning as the original).

The best of the three first issues, for me.
At least, if we don't consider the special issue "Zero Slash One"...

Titles almost never remain the same when translating something. Quite right to adapt titles to match potentials of the destination language.

I see your point, but translating "Ritratto dell'eroe da giovane" to "Adventures in the future" and two issues later "Invasione" to "Adventures in New-Zealand" ist just friggin lazy. It's not even as if this phrase "Abenteuer in..." sounds especially cool in German, it's just a plain, uninspired title...

OT: This was the first PK issue I've read, since #0 wasn't released in Germany at the start. But even if I'd known all three this would probably have been my favourite since I always had a liking for future and time travel stuff.

Well...nothing to say, you're right. So trivial to translate that way. Above all, you lose the quote of Joyce's most famous Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.

To cheer you up a little, every summer I buy some Lustiges Taschenbuch (Taschenb├╝cher? How do you make plurals of magazines names?). Well, I've found that while your story titles have some sense, here in Italy we always have something like "Zio Paperone e...", "Paperino e..." which mean "Uncle Scrooge and something", "Donald Duck and somebody doing something" and so on.

Oh dear God, I knew that titles were translated in a different way but THIS is totally LAZY.
I mean, why would you have to change an original title? It also sounded srsl cool. When I studied Joyce I was pleasantly surprised about it.
It's an uncorrect translation that makes things less interesting too.

@Maximillion_Pegasus
It would be "Lustige Taschenb├╝cher" in the plural. German is just such a nightmare of a language if you have to learn it, at least compared to English or Italian...

They also used these generic titles you mentioned in German comics, but mostly in "Donald Duck" or "Onkel Dagobert" (Ucle Scrooge) issues. I think my biggest problem with the pkna title mistranslations was, that the rest of these comics was always very well translated and close to the original.

My first modern Pk issue and Ilove it so much! It sits right next to the best of Asterix on the top of my favourite comics ever Smile.
